2008 Clark County Running Club Summer Calendar All CCRC runs are free to members unless noted. There is a $2.00 fee for Non-members There is no pre-registration. Just show up 30 minutes before the start to register. Please no Baby Joggers, Head Phones or Dogs. (For Insurance purposes)
Wednesday, May 28th, 7 PM (start of the summer series) David Douglas 5K Run Run Directors: Bill & Janet Fallon 892-1041 Run the paved and dirt trails of David Douglas Park and the surrounding neighborhood streets. Rest rooms are available in the park. Directions: Go west from 1-205 on Mill Plain Blvd., then north on Garrison Road (the light next to Garrison Square). Go left at the entrance north of the ball field and proceed to the furthest west parking lot.

Wednesday, June 11th & 18th, 7 PM Frenchman's Bar 3 Mile Run Run Director: Laurie Porter 253-4223 Scenic out and back course on the very flat and fast paved trail from Frenchman"s Bar County Park. Run alongside pas- toral farm lands and the scenic Vancouver Lake flushing chan- nel. Nice childrens playground and Columbia River beach for before and after. No parking fee last year, but there might be a $2.00 fee this year. Limited alternative free parking is 1 mile before the Frenchman"s Bar Park entrance. Restrooms available in the park. Directions: Go west from 1-5 on Fourth Plain Blvd. approxi- mately 7 miles to Frenchman"s Bar Park. Bear right just be- yond the intersection with Fruit Valley Rd. as Fourth Plain Blvd. becomes Lower River Rd. About 1 mile beyond the Clark PUD generation station bear left at the fork in the road ( not the right fork that goes to Vancouver Lake).
Wednesday, June 25th & July 2nd, 7 PM Leverich Park 3 Mile Run Run Directors: Mike & Carolyn Viles 883-9596 This hilly run will use the paved Discovery Trail and the un- paved Ellen Davis Trail. Restrooms are available in the park. Directions: From 1-5 go east on 39th st., then north on Lev- erich Park Way to the north parking lot- which is just south of NE 45th st.. If the north parking lot is full, there are 2 other parking lots for the park- south of the north parking lot. Mike needs 2 finish line helpers!
Ridgefield 4th of July Run The annual 4th of July Run will be back as always this year. There are a couple of changes to this year’s run. The Ridgefield runners added a competitive 5K run that will be timed. Also there will a Kids dash. To register, click this link For A flyer, click this link
Wednesday, July 9th & 16th, 7 PM WSU Campus 3 Mile Run Run Directors: Jill & Mike Gilbert 573-2739 M-F 8-5 Run the beautiful WSU Campus and enjoy a few hills. Directions: From 1-5 or 1-205, take the 134th st. exit. Go east on 134th st. past 29th ave.. It turns into Salmon Creek ave.. Follow the WSU Vancouver signs to the entrance on your left. Wind up the hill to the top. There will be CCRC signs for parking. No Restrooms available.
Wednesday, July 23rd & 30th, 7 PM Lacamas Lake Park 5K Run Run Directors: Fred Larson & Mt. View CC Team 883-9759 This run will be on the unpaved trails around Round Lake just east of Lacamas Lake. This is a very hilly course. Restrooms are available in the park. Directions: From SE 164th St. ave., Go east on SE 1st St. (1st becomes Lake Rd. on the south side of Lacamas Lake) ap- proximately 5 miles to Everett St.. Go north on Everett St. past the parking lot for Lacamas Lake Park. Turn right on NE 35th ave., just before the Lakeside Country store and park in the gravel overflow parking lot on your left - about 200 yds. down the road.
Wednesday, August 6th & 13th, 7 PM Minnehaha 3 Mile Run Run Director: Phil Phimister 694-8936 Trails and roads - very hilly. No Restrooms. Directions: From 1-5, take SR500 east to St. Johns - Left on St. Johns. Up the hill to 54th St.. Left on 54th St. to Minnehaha Elementary School.
Wednesday, August 20th , 7 PM - Aug. 27th, 6:30 PM - Picnic Marine Park 3 Mile Run Run Director: Russ Zornick 896-2120 This run will have an out & back in each direction on the water- front trail. Restrooms available. Directions: From Hwy 14 take the Columbia House exit to Columbia Shores Blvd. south then east on Columbia Way to the park area just west of Marine Park Way. There are 2 parking area"s. One is on Columbia Way and the other is on Marine Park Way. Overflow parking @ water resource Center.
Saturday September 6th, 11:30 AM Vancouver Lake Park 2 Mile Cross Country Run This race is held in conjunction with Columbia River’s Cross Country Race. It is free to club members
Saturday, September 13th, 9 AM Salmon Creek 10K Run Director: Doug Settlemier 573-7332 A good 10K course from the Salmon Cr. baseball field - to WSU campus and back. Directions: From Hwy 99 go west on NE 117th St.. Stay on 117th St. and drive past Salmon Cr. Park. Turn right on the first paved road - past the park ( approximately 1/3 mile). You will see the back stop for the baseball diamond. Restrooms available.
Saturday, September 27th, 9 AM Lacamas Park 5 Mile Run Run Directors: Jenny & Terry Knight 254-5737 The run follows the mostly unpaved trails around Round Lake. This is a beautiful & challenging trail run. Restrooms available. Directions: From SE 164th ave., go east on SE 1st St. (1st becomes Lake Rd. on the south side of Lacamas Lake) approx. 5 miles to Everett St. in Camas. Then go north on Everett St. for 100 yds. to the main parking lot for Lacamas Lake Park on the east side of the road. There is an overflow parking area on NE 35th ave., just north of the park. |
